Keighlan Johnson
Counseling Intern in Training
Hello! I'm Keighlan, a Graduate Student at MidAmerica Nazarene University and Counselor Intern-In-Training. My personal, daily challenges with crippling anxiety led me to my own therapy several years ago. I have grown immensely through support both inside and outside of therapy and came to the field of counseling, striving to help others the way I have been helped.
The work we do in therapy can be challenging and at times feel overwhelming. It takes courage to show up as your vulnerable and authentic self. At the same time, it can be one of the most rewarding things you will ever choose to pursue. I am here to walk alongside you, provide a safe, non-judgmental space for you, and support you through your healing journey.
I am currently training in marriage/couple/family therapy but am just as passionate about working with individuals as well. I enjoy working with women who deal with PMDD/PME or other hormonal health issues. This can be also be done through couples or family counseling, where I work with the whole family to support the person dealing with PMDD.
Having dealt with severe anxiety for most of my life, I want to help empower you to achieve your therapeutic goals through a collaborative relationship. Every person has a story, and I would be honored to learn about yours.
Outside of the counseling room, I enjoy spending time with my fiancé, reading, writing, and listening to a vast array of music genres.
I am excited to meet you!
